So I went to din tai fung in the morning. I read that the peak hour is at 11pm so I was planning to reach before then. I went to Taipei main station to place my luggage. Lost for abit. The mrt is really big and has many many exits so when I got out the wrong exit I could get back down.. That was because i was holding onto a 13kg luggage and the only way down was by the stairs... But thanks to good bloggers out there who posted really detailed directions, I managed to find it without much trouble. And I really really love Google now! Awesomezzz
So din tai fung was a da-an district. Being all naive, I went to da-an mrt station. I keyed in the address into my google maps and walked there. Regretted by decision to walk. It's was endless! And the problem is by the time I walk halfway there, and key in the address again, the map showed me another location opposite from the rote i was going OTL
By then I was starving to death. I was already 11am. After snacking on Burger King, I consolidated my thoughts. I used Google to find a proper address for din tai fung. Who know google was that awesome. They actually link the address search results to google maps directly! So much for manually keying in a dubious address ._. Then google maps directed me which bus to take and I finally reached my destination at 12.30am. I was lucky to be eating solo as I got my sit really fast despite the long queue.
My views on Taipei din tai fung: hmm the fried rice is good but wasn't as awesome as I expected. I read reviews and they all seemed to like it alot so I had high expectations. However I'm thinking Shilin mianxian beats the fried rice at din tai fung hahaha. The xiaolongbao is good though:3 the skin is nice and thin:)
Initially I was abit scared of taking any bus because of the confusing bus routes. Like what if I ended up at southern Taiwan right? But after taking buses up down left right, I'm abit more confident now hahaha. Yay bus travel mode unlock! Oh ya, and thanks to travelling by bus, I manage to find some good malls and shopping area to roam about. I gave up on going to tamshui (another end of Taipei) and sticked to roaming at zhongxiao xinsheng area. The shopping route is endless. It's like no matter which direction you go, there is a shop. LOL
I was shopping for a charger cable to charge my charge since I forgot to bring mine. But it doesn't look like there one here in Taipei T.T I also wanted to source for cheap thermal coats. But they all costed $50-100 bucks! Ended up in a shop with very zealous shopkeepers. I saw a really nice coat that costed $77 and then I didn't have the heart to reject the nice shopkeepers who taught me so many things about keeping warmth. So I got it in the end. I'm feeling abit post purchase dissonance right now. Hahh. The cost is pretty but not extremely functional in terms of keeping warm (but hey, it's usable in Singapore). I hope it's sufficient to help me survive 12 degrees weather in Taipei:/
I met Sonia (my project manager), went to eat dinner at some Japanese restaurant with the other project manager in charge of community development. Had a casual briefing about the project I would be allocated to. Found out that Sonia is attached- to a Beijing guy. Apparently all she can think about is Beijing LOL. Actually Sonia is a really nice person. I guess the inefficiency in settling my project isn't her fault:)
Settled in a Sonia's house for the night. The place was drastically different from the one I had in Day 1. Messier and smaller. Seeing that there's no cockroaches or floor-sleeping, Im cool(^ν^)there's lot of hair everywhere tho. The sink, the floor and the bed lol. #troublesofhavinglonghair
After planning the next day itinerary and watching running man, I went to sleep X.x K.O after walking so much lols
Today I get to shop with Romeo! Kekeke (Romeo is really Angela. It's her nickname cuz of how unfated we are. Like always end up in different places, classes and stuff)
Body ache,
Jojo
P.s carrying around a laptop on ur shoulders all day takes a toll on ur back and shoulder muscles XD
