Taiwan Explores Day 31: Rendezvous with Rachel Tay

It's a super coincidence cuz we found out that Rachel was holiday-ing at Kaohsiung too. So we agree to hang out together at night.

We woke up early in the morning to set off to Love River. Cheers to pledging our Best Friends Forever Love! It amazes me how Angela can get up almost promptly with the sound of the alarm. She even has the energy to do 30mins of skincare:0 I just took every opportunity I had to sleep. Yums.

So on our way to Love River, we passed by the Dome of Light (which is inside the Formosa mrt station). It's so beautiful you don't even expect it to be an mrt station!

Like why would there be castles in an mrt station right?!
And the dome of light. It's prettier in real life. We tried to paranoma the whole dome but failed:/

So this is the love river. Mehh to how it's supposed to be romantic(?) maybe it's more romantic at night with the lightings(?) the view in the morning is more awesome though

As we waited for the ferry to come, we toured around the river bank, need the art museum. The outdoor exhibitions were super awesome. Good photography opportunities!
Looks so real right! It's really just a flat painting though.
There were lots of different kinds of farmer statues.
There's a nice garden to ride a bike around as well.

After which, we took at quick ferry ride from the Love River to Cijin Island. The ferry ticket is pretty negligible (only 40NT) you can choose the aircon room or the seats outside where you can enjoy the sea breeze. The sea breeze feels nice when kaohsiung is so hot these days.

We rented a double bike to cycle around cijin island. The bicycle pathway is sparse so we had a thrilling and dangerous ride on roads where there were cars and scooters. I tried steering the bike on front but it was really hard when my feet could hardly reach the ground. Kudos to tall Yuen \^.^/ we cycled to the cijin lighthouse and had an extremely exhausting climb up the light house
The view from up there is pretty good

We gave up on going up to cijin fort cuz we were so exhausted after that. We went back down to find our bikes. However, somehow one of the chain of the bike came out. Angela couldn't help to peddle at all so she helped to steer while I peddled 100kg worth of cycling weight. We cycled back to the shop to get some fixing done.

After that we had a really good seafood lunch. Kudos to fish delicacies~

Angela steered the bike real hard and we went to play at the Cijin beach for awhile. I camwhored while riding the bike:3

Nice almost-sunset view at the beach:

So after peddling so hard all day, we went to our rendezvous point to meet Rachel. We found ourselves 1hr early so we just slacked in the mrt watching running man heheheh.

At kaisyuan night market, there were 10 long lanes of food and shopping. We ate like we never eat before and had a good catch-up session to Rachel Tay
The two of them had their manicures done.. I didn't since I had to go back to wash dishes and do kitchen work... During the manicure time, we witness Rachel tay's epic flirting at work. Somehow the male manicurist slowly opened up to her and we even got his Facebook in the end. What an epic 30minutes love story for Rachel Tay >~<

I ate this pot of plant at the night market

Nah... It's really Oreo icecream! I order Swiss chocolate but somehow, I didn't taste chocolate flavour at all (?!) not that yummy._.

We managed to walk all 10 lanes of the night market. However, we missed the last train and had to share taxi back home. Thankfully Rachel Tay lives near our hostel:3 we got back home at 2am... I would hate to not fully utilize the hot showers at the hostel so I bathe despite it being so late into the night. Super paiseh when we used the noisy hair dryer when the other girls in the dorm were happily sleeping:/ eeks.

What an awesome day,
Jojo
