1. The stations in Korea are separate!
Like blur foreigners, we went into a train station and expected to be inside Line 1.
Who knew, we ended up in gyeongui line and didn't know how to get to Line 1 through gyeongui line. In the end we just hecked care and took gyeongui line to our destination
2. Don't take minor line cuz the interval is very long
We dumb-ly took a minor line and waited 20min for a train! When the train arrived we fumbled over pushing ahma's wheelchair (jovan's ahma) on board. When ahma got on board, the train door started closing... :0
"Shit if we miss this one we have to wait another 20mins!" We literally pried open the doors and pushed ourselves in! Haha what an experience.. Almost got crushed by the door but we used our shoulder to keep it open LOL. After tt we strategized a plan to go in different doors. Six ppl trying to get in the same door with a wheelchair is tough man!
3.Finding lifts for wheelchair people in Korean's MRT line is difficult
As korea's mrt line is very complicated, there can be different operators on the same line. The distance from one operator's line to the other operator's is huge. Especially if you are finding lifts. The signs for lifts was so difficult to find. We walked back and forth back and forth... I think our leg broke that day cuz of the walking around the stations looking for lifts..
We settled for taxi in the end cuz we realised short distances on taxi is actually really cheap and comparable to train fares.
4. Trickeye is fun but man, is the queue for each picture long!
It's bad crazy at the trickeye musuem. Sometimes there can be 20+ ppl in a tiny room trying to queue for pictures. It's had to take good ones without ppl randomly walking past. So we spent 2hrs + on it! Even though I would say we would probably take 30min if its completely empty and free for us to take pictures. Good thing Jovan had a pro camera:) here are some of my favourite shots:
Pic 1: when life gives you lemon, you make lemonade. BUT when life give you pee, just 吞(swallow)! Hahaha
Pic 2: a really fitting picture to depict what I've been feeling for the past few months. Always Chiong enactus meeting, Chiong poster, Chiong last minute adversities. Even at Korea it's Chiong shopping Chiong Chiong Chiong! So I call this picture "pressed for time"
Pic 3: "Like a zen". Finding my zen @ trickeye musuem haha
Pic 4: Suppressing adversity with the sheer force of will!
Then together with trickeye musuem, we got to experience winter @ ice musuem. Man it was cold! It was like take picture, run, take picture, run. "Faster faster!" We kept shouting at Jovan the cameraman
5. Always remember the street where your apartment is at. The address given doesn't give street names... But number codes 0.o
When it was time to go home, we lost our way. We knew our apartment was 5mins walk from seoul station... but seoul station had many railway station and many exits. It was hugeeee! we walked around in circles and when we finally found our way back,
.
.
.
There was stairs downwards. ah man was in a wheelchair. no slope, no elevator nearby. In the end, we split team. Jovan, jiejie and ahma took the super long way back where there is an elevator down. Meanwhile, I was entrusted with leading the aunties back home. I put my navigation and street memory skills to test. Like a good reliable kid, I got them back home safely! Woohoo~ yappari the 6 weeks @ Taiwan changed my navigation skills and street smarts!
6. Chicken and beer is awesome!
We had chicken and beer for supper! It was awesome. For a fish lover like me, man, is the chicken good! Makkoli is yummy wine too! It's slightly sweet~one theory is confirmed: I'm definitely allergic to alcohol cuz I turned super red after one sip
Shag from walking all day long,
Jojo
